The CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run that raises funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, and it is in need of organizational help.
It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. The event takes place Oct. 6.
Volunteers are the community drivers in every Run site in Canada. The Canadian Cancer Society is currently accepting applications for committee members to help plan this event.
Planning and organizing the Run takes time, passion and creative thinking. In partnership with other volunteers and staff, you will be part of something truly extraordinary in your community. With your community insight, you will raise awareness, encourage participation, and drive fundraising results.
Specifically, the local office is looking for two roles on the volunteer committee, Run Day Experience Lead and Sponsorship Lead.
The committee meets bi-weekly, with independent work ranging from three to five hours per week.
