A report of a suspicious person in Chatham yesterday afternoon resulted in a slew of charges.
Police say they got the call of a suspicious man on Ascot Court in Chatham Tuesday afternoon. Officers located the man, and an investigation revealed he was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at TSC, which had just happened. Police say the loss prevention officer at the store tried to stop the man but he became aggressive and fled.
A search upon arrest revealed the man was in possession of methamphetamine.
A 32-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, escaping lawful custody, failing to comply, and drug possession.
