Chatham-Kent police report a would-be thief used bear spray during an early morning attempt to steal a laptop.
Police say shortly before 6 a.m., a man went to a Richmond Street business and tried to make off with a laptop. When confronted by an employee, police say the man used bear spray on the employee.
The staffer did not need medical attention.
The man fled prior to officers arriving on scene, leaving behind at GT bike. Police say he was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with plaid shorts. He’s approximately 100-150 pounds and had a tattoo on his neck with cursive writing.
