Fleeing from police led to a slew of charges against a Walpole Island man Wednesday in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent police say an officer on general patrol spotted a vehicle on Dufferin Avenue without a rear license plate yesterday morning, and went to pull it over.
But police say the driver took off at a high rate of speed, running stop signs in the process, before eventually pulling over.
A search on arrest resulted in the discovery of crystal meth.
Further investigation indicated the front plate attached to the vehicle wasn’t registered to any vehicle, and the driver didn’t have a valid licence.
A 44-year-old Walpole Island man is charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, using plates not authorized for the vehicle, driving without a licence and drug possession.
