Thieves didn’t discriminate recently, hitting homes and businesses alike.
Chatham-Kent police say sometime Monday morning between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., someone forced their way into a home on Southend Crescent in Chatham and stole $2,500 worth of jewelry and a Samsung tablet.

In Wheatley, sometime between 11 a.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday, someone got into H&H Wood Products on Eastman Drive, causing about $3,000 damage in the process.
Once inside, they stole power tools, hand tools, a laptop, a tablet and some case.
Total estimated value of the items is $12,000.

Over in Bothwell, sometime between Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 7:30 a.m., thieves got into a shed at Main Street auto Parts and stole seven 20-pound propane tanks, valued at a combined $400.

And in Wallaceburg, sometime over the past weekend thieves entered an unlocked storage shed on Elizabeth Street and stole a black & blue Mastercraft heavy duty compressor, a Mastercraft roller jack, two Mastercraft axel stands, and a 24-inch Mastercraft breaker bar. Total value estimated at $500.
