A Brampton man faces charges after Chatham-Kent OPP pulled a tractor-trailer off the road Friday night.
Police say they received complaints from Highway 401 drivers that an eastbound big rig was losing parts along the highway, that it’s bumper was falling off and the rear doors weren’t secure.
Officers tracked down the truck near the eastbound border of Chatham-Kent.
Police say the truck had been involved in a collision earlier that day in Michigan and suffered significant damage to the rear of the trailer.
The damage left the trailer with insufficient rear lighting, damaged brakes and with compromise to the structural integrity of the trailer.
Police had the trailer towed from the roadway.
A 45-year-old Brampton man is charged with operating an unsafe vehicle and not properly documenting a trip inspection.
