A man faces charges after police say he stole from his cousin in Wallaceburg last night.

According to Chatham-Kent police, a man went to the cousin’s residence about 7:30 p.m. and asked to use the washroom. He proceeded to put two Bluetooth speakers and three baseball caps in his backpack, and then grabbed the woman’s bicycle and walked towards the door.

Police add the woman stood near the door in an attempt to stop the man from leaving, but he pushed her out of the way and left.

Shortly after 5 a.m., officers found their suspect. Police say as the officers were in the process of making the arrest, the man pulled away and resisted, resulting in an officer using a Taser on him.

A 21-year-old man of no fixed address is charged him with robbery, possession of stolen property and resisting a peace officer.

Police recovered the stolen bike, but say the speakers and ball caps are still missing.
