A Wallaceburg woman is facing charges after animal control personnel had to remove one cat and three kittens from a hot vehicle Thursday.

PAWR officials say they received a call Thursday of the cats spotted in a car in a parking lot on Tweedsmuir Avenue in Chatham.

They report the internal temperature in the vehicle was reaching up to 37C.

The cats were eventually removed from the vehicle and placed inside a nearby apartment to get a cool drink.

An 18-year-old Wallaceburg woman faces multiple charges of leaving an animal unattended in a vehicle when weather conditions are not suitable.
