Recently several residences and businesses have been the victim of break and enters where tools were the target, costing homeowners and businesses thousands of dollars.

In response to these types of incidents the Chatham–Kent Police have initiated the Surveillance Camera Registry. The idea is that if a break and enter or other major incidents occurs near your home or business the police can come to you and obtain video evidence of the crime or the suspects. Programs similar to this have been started across North American and have proven to be helpful in reducing crime.
