Following the May release of her new book, We Talk, We Lead: A Reflection of One Woman’s Stories to Inspire and Empower Others, author Wendy Zelond is hosting an official book launch and celebration on June 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Retro Suites Derby Room in Chatham.
Tickets are available online with a portion of proceeds going to the United Way of Chatham-Kent.
An Amazon Canada bestseller in the women and business category, We Talk, We Lead has generated social buzz and professional interest since its release. The book launch is an opportunity for people to meet the author, experience an engaging question and answer session, and socialize among other local professionals.
We Talk, We Lead is a personal collection of stories about Zelond’s rise to the top in a male-dominated industry, and the barriers she and many women face in the workplace when it comes to work-life balance, dealing with unconscious bias, pay inequality, and more.
Driven to support women in realizing their potential, too, Zelond includes conversation starters to encourage other women to start talking.
A Texas native, Zelond called Chatham home from 2013 to 2017. Chatham has been a foundational place in both her professional and personal journey, where she first became an executive with Union Gas. Today, she resides in Toronto but maintains a strong business presence in Chatham.
