The Tilbury area is bustling with job opportunities as employers from around the region sought to recruit skilled staff for over 200 local jobs.

Attendees to last week’s job fair were invited to bring their resumes and explore careers that included both part-time and full-time work and a range of salaries from minimum wage to well into six figures.

“It was great to see people arrive with their resume in-hand and be interviewed on the spot by potential employers. We really want to see success for everyone, both businesses and future employees,” Geoff Wright, Business Development Specialist for Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services, said in a media release. “We are hoping that people of all ages in Chatham-Kent, across the province, and people throughout the world learn of the great careers in Chatham-Kent. We’re a welcoming community that loves to provide the opportunity for people to live, work, and play.”

The event featured a wide range of jobs including general labourer, electrical apprentice, electrician, millwright, mechanical and electrical designer, PLC programmer, robotics technician, HR generalist, financial controller and supervisor, quality parts inspector and quality assurance technician.

As well there are licensed technicians, parts manager, service advisor, bartender, wait staff, bus person, dishwasher, cooks and caretaker.

The event is just one in a series of activities planned across the municipality.

“A key goal of the economic development department is to create the right environment for businesses and communities to thrive, and job fairs are one tool we use to help show that Chatham-Kent is open for business,” Stuart McFadden, Acting Director for Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services, said.
