A trip to the Chatham-Kent Courthouse ended badly for a Chatham man Monday.

Police say a court officer recognized a visitor to the court as a person she knew was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in London.

As the officer placed the man under arrest, police say he pulled away from her, and continued to resist arrest to the point he had to physically be taken into custody.

The officer sustained an injury to her hand as a result of the incident.

A 29-year-old Chatham man is charged with resisting arrest, and was turned over to London police for court purposes.
