The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation’s Over the Edge fundraiser June 23 just got a lot more attractive for participants.
Lally Kia has donated a 2018 Kia Rio as a door prize – so one of the 91 participants will drive away with a new car.
The first-ever Over the Edge event for the Children’s Treatment Centre takes place June 23 at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. The event will offer a fun-filled day for thrill-seekers, families, and everyone in between.
The Children’s Treatment Centre is looking for 91 thrill-seekers to rappel down the Holiday Inn and go Over The Edge in support of their Butterfly Building Campaign, so all children, of all abilities, can reach their full potential.
You can support Over The Edge by registering as an “Edger,” sponsoring an Edger, or sponsoring the event.
To participate as an Edger, individuals need to raise $1,000, or $1,500 to attach a GoPro to their helmet and take home a copy of their experience.
Edgers can build their own Over The Edge donation page to post, share or e-mail to friends and family for easy fundraising.
The CTC Foundation welcomed Lally Kia as an event sponsor recently, and the dealership opted to donate the Kia Rio as a giveaway prize.
“The staff at Lally Kia wanted to get involved in the CTC Foundation’s Butterfly Building Campaign and help Chatham-Kent children, of all abilities, reach their full potential,” Mike Weber, General Manager of Lally Kia, said in a release. “We’re excited to go over the edge with the Foundation, and be a part of this unique fundraising event.”
“Registration is limited and spaces are filling up fast,” Mike Genge, Executive Director of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation said. “We’ve had several companies, like Entegrus and Retro Suites, register for our corporate challenge, and several community members, including Councillor Canniff, Daniel Whittal, Michael Grail (local Tim Hortons owner), and even clients and families of the Children’s Treatment Centre register.”
Over The Edge is a fully accessible and inclusive event – participants need to weigh 100 pounds and be able to hold a rope, but is accommodating to wheelchairs and assistive walking devices.
The CTC Foundation encourages the community and families of participants to come out and enjoy a day of thrill seeking, and a carnival-like atmosphere featuring obstacle courses, a human Velcro wall, games, live music, food vendors, magicians and face painting.
Individuals can register online at otecwe.com/chatham, or call the Foundation at 519-354-0520, ext. 266 for more information.
