Chatham-Kent police have released the name of the victim of the April 18 homicide in Wallaceburg.

Nicholas Laprise, 24, of Dover Township was pronounced dead at the scene of the Book Street residence where he was found without vital signs.

Police say a post-mortem took place the next day in London, but they aren’t releasing the cause of death at this time.

As well, officers executed a search warrant and have finished their forensic examination of the crime scene.

Police say this was not a random act of violence, as the man and woman charged with his murder were known to each other.

Kourtny Audette, 25, of Book Street, is charged with first-degree murder.

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit continue their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Unit at 519-436-6616 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
