Members of the Batman Bike building crew with Corteva Agriscience (formerly DuPont Pioneer) hand over a new bike and helmet to Carter Blondeel, 4. The company, with help choosing worthy recipients from the Chatham-Kent Children’s Services, gave five bikes to local children recently.

Admitting they know agri-science better than they know bicycle construction, the leadership team at Corteva Agriscience (formerly DuPont Pioneer) donated five new bicycles to a select group of kids in Chatham-Kent recently.

The Corteva crew double-checked their efforts before giving the bikes – and helmets – to children chosen by members of Chatham-Kent Children’s Services

Bryce Eger, Canadian commercial leader for Corteva, said the team enjoyed the opportunity.

“We got to have some fun building bikes,” he said. “The leadership team – some are good with tools; some are good with orders.”

Eger added the giving spirit of DuPont and Pioneer is continuing through Corteva Agriscience.

“We have a long history of community investment. We’re able to help somebody and give them something they can have fun with,” he said of the five lucky recipients.

Tammy Craeymeersch, the fundraising chair at children’s services, said the donated bikes are greatly appreciated.
