Sir: Recently someone was hit by a bus at the Chatham bus terminal. She may have stepped into the bus lane briefly.
The problem is that the benches and their glass enclosures are placed diagonally rather than parallel to the bus lanes, leaving not enough room for people to pass them on one side.
Many people squeeze by, putting themselves dangerously close to the incoming buses. The bus terminal benches and their glass enclosures need to be moved to allow more space for people to pass.
It was heartbreaking to watch this woman bleeding and in pain.
Something must be done to rectify this problem or next time someone might be killed.
