What began with a man armed with a baseball bat showing up at a neighbour’s apartment turned more bizarre at police headquarters last night as the suspect peed all over the place.
According to Chatham-Kent police, it all began about 9:30 p.m. Monday night at an apartment complex on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg, when a man began banging on a neighbour’s door. When the neighbour opened the door, he was greeted with yelling and threats from a man holding a baseball bat.
The neighbour shut the door and called the cops.
Police found their suspect 15 minutes later in his apartment and made the arrest.
While in custody at police headquarters, police say the man damaged his cell, and urinated on the cell floor and outside of the cell.
Initially charged with assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and uttering threats, a 54-year-old Wallaceburg man now faces an additional charge of mischief for the floor-wetting effort.
