Eighty Curlers from across Ontario and as far away as Ohio took part in the third annual Ethan’s Toques & Mittens Bonspiel at the Chatham Granite Club recently.

The event raises money for the Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada in Montreal. This year, the bonspiel raised more than $4,800. That’s up about $500 from last year’s total, organizer Judy Hobbs said.

Overall, in its three years, the event has pulled in more than $11,000 for the hospital.

More than 120 attended the dinner after the bonspiel this year.

The grand prize winner of the trip for two to Montreal was Mike Powell.

The winning team was The Pebble Pushers – Matt McKay, Mike, McKay, Colin McKay, John Young Jr.
