Dear criminals: Police do have memories, and access to computer databases.

That’s the unfortunate reality for a Wallaceburg man.

About 1 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a suspicious man near Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg. Police say they found a man matching the description on Johnson Street. He told the officers his name, but police allege it was the wrong one, as the officers recognized the man and knew his name.

Police also learned he was wanted on outstanding warrants for possession of stolen property and failing to attend court.

A 19-year-old Wallaceburg man now also faces charges of obstructing police and failing to comply with his release conditions.
