Around 2:00pm on October 7, police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Baseline road in Wallaceburg. As the officer initiated a traffic stop the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed.
Due to public safety concerns, police terminated the pursuit but were able to strategically follow the vehicle to an address on Wills Street. As the vehicle entered a private driveway the female driver attempted to flee the area on foot, but was quickly arrested by officers.
Upon being arrested the accused was found to be in possession of approximately $4800 worth of methamphetamine.
A 33–year–old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply and multiple driving related offences. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
