Police are still looking for a suspicious man in Chatham in relation to an incident at George P Vanier School.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service thanked everyone who came forward with information to assist officers in identifying a man and vehicle, who was looking for directions. Through investigation, police believe the incident from George P Vanier School is not related to the two incidents in the Madera Crescent / Daleview Avenue area.
Police have since identified the man who approached the two young children thanks to a citizen who provided dash cam footage. It appears as though the man was lost and looking for a specific address. The 26-year-old Chatham man has been spoken to by police regarding his suspicious actions. Police do not believe he is a danger to children.
Police, however, are continuing their efforts to identify the suspicious man who entered George P Vanier School. The man was described as white, 5’10”-6’0” in height with brown hair. He was last seen wearing jeans, blue shirt with two-tone sleeves and black/burgundy straight brimmed hat.
