A single vehicle accident near Erie Beach has claimed the life of an Amherstburg woman.
Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a single motor collision on Erie Shore Drive, just outside the community of Erie Beach. The driver and sole occupant lost control of her Pontiac Grand Am, left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. The 51-year-old Amherstburg woman was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with life-threatening injuries and transferred to London.
Yesterday, the woman succumbed to her injuries. At the family’s request, her name will not be released. Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service offer their deepest condolences to the woman’s family and friends.
