South Kent homeowners got a rude awakening yesterday morning after being surprised by a man carrying a shotgun.
Shortly after 8:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a report of man with a weapon inside a residence on Ninth Line, near North Buxton. The man entered the home and awoke the homeowners, known to him, while carrying a shotgun.
No one was injured and the man fled the area prior to police arrival.
Around 9:20 a.m., police located the man and he was arrested. The 49-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with break and enter. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. This incident remains under investigation as more charges are anticipated.
