A man was charged and released after assaulting a woman yesterday afternoon in Chatham.
Police say the man saw his ex-common-law spouse walking on Center Street. He began yelling inappropriate names and then crossed the road and confronted her. As the woman tried to walk away, he grabbed her hair. The woman was able to break free and contact police.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released pending a future court date of May 13.
