Police track down shoplifter

Yesterday afternoon around 3:00 p.m., a woman attended Best Buy on St. Clair Street in Chatham and stole two D-Link network cameras valued at approximately $300. Police were immediately called as the store alarm was activated. Officers were given the physical description of the woman and her last known direction of travel. At 3:25 p.m. officers located the woman and she was arrested. Through investigation, officers learned that the woman was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for a previous shoplifting incident on March 19, 2016 at the Downtown Chatham Centre.

A 30 year old Wallaceburg womanhas been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date of April 12, 2016.
