Anyone interested in participating in this year’s Relay for Life event June 11 is urged to come out to the Relay Rally, Monday Feb. 29 at Aristo’s Banquet Hall on Grand Ave.
Krissy Rioux of the Canadian Cancer Society said the rally will be held from 6 to 8 p.m..
“We have a short information session at 7 p.m. which will include a survivor story,’ she said. “We will also have team captain kits available.”
Attendees don’t need to be there for the entire event although many stay to exchange ideas.
“It’s great when you get a lot of people in the room talking about plans and sharing memories,” she said.
This year’s relay will be a six-hour event, beginning at 6 p.m. at the CKSS athletic complex.
“We’ve shortened it from the 12 hours the year before to make the relay more accessible,” she said. “We will still have all of the fun and events, we’re just going to compress it into a shorter time frame.”
