Last night around 10:20 p.m. police received information about a possible impaired driver in the Tim Horton’s drive-thru in Blenheim.
An officer on general patrol observed the SUV on Marlborough Street and a traffic stop was initiated.
Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
His vehicle was towed from the scene and will be held for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
A 36-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and driving while under suspension. He has been released pending a future court date of January 8, 2016.
