Within the space of an hour or so last night Chatham Kent Police took into custody a pair of men who had drank to the point where they were unable to take care of themselves.
Around 9:00 p.m.police responded to a residence on Merritt Avenue in Chatham in regards to an unwanted man in an apartment. Officers located the intoxicated man in the hallway and he was taken into custody for his own safety.
The 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.He was released this morning when sober.
Just before 10:00 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Fourth Street in Chatham. Officers located an intoxicated man who was unable to care for himself.
