Someone stole $1,600 in solar panels recently in Tilbury.
Police say sometime between July 20 and July 29, someone snipped the fence at First Solar Inc. on Industrial Road in the West Kent community and made off with eight solar panels.
The panels weigh nearly 30 pounds each, are 4-foot-by-2-foot rectangles, and are typically used for solar farms.
Damage to the property during the theft is estimated at $400.
