A pair of Chatham men face charges following two recent unrelated domestic disputes in the Maple City.
Police say a man went to his girlfriend’s residence about 1 a.m. this morning and assaulted her.
He also punched a couple of holes in the wall and beat up a clock.
Police say the woman was able to flee and call for help. Officers found the suspect still in her home and made the arrest.
A 43-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault and mischief, as well as two counts of failing to comply with release conditions to not consume alcohol.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a man went to his girlfriend’s home and an argument broke out. It escalated, police say, and the man assaulted the woman, threatened her, and broke a window before fleeing prior to officers arriving on scene, police say.
But last night, the cops found their suspect and slapped on the handcuffs.
A 24-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of assault, two of failing to comply, two of mischief, and two counts of uttering threats.
