Plans for a splash pad in Thamesville’s scenic Ferguson Park got a boost in the right direction, thanks to Entegrus and its partner Corix.
Entegrus President and CEO Jim Hogan, along with Sarah Regnier, corporate communications specialist, were in Thamesville May 6 to present a $10,000 cheque to members of the Thamesville Improvement Area (TIA), the group behind the splash pad project.
The donation from Entegrus brings the total raised to date to $65,000, almost halfway to a goal of $170,000, according to TIA member Chris Crawford.
“The splash pad will be going in Ferguson Park and we hope by next year to have it in place,” Crawford said. “There was a wading pool there at one time so some of the infrastructure is there already.”
The community has been busy with dinners and various fundraisers to help the project along, and any funds received are appreciated.
“We have a pool currently but it is for children who know how to swim. The splash pad will be good for younger children, disabled children and even the elderly can enjoy it,” Crawford explained.
