A Moraviantown man is facing charges following an assault on Walpole Island on the weekend.
Police say on Sunday afternoon, a man approached another at the Thunderbird Plaza and slugged him in the face.
The victim required medical attention, according to police, and had to be taken to hospital.
Initially, due to the severity of the injury, it was thought a weapon may have been involved, but police say that is not the case.
Peter Joel Hopkins, 35, of Moravian First Nation, is charged with assault causing bodily harm, breach of probation and causing a disturbance.
