When your drinking spills out into the public, the police could wind up as your best friends.
About 12:30 this morning, officers responded to a disturbance in the common area of a Grand Avenue East apartment building. Police say a man was drunk, unco-operative and unable to take care of himself.
In other words, he was blotto.
Police took the man into custody for his own safety, and charged him for being intoxicated in a public place.
They let him out of the drunk tank when he sobered up.
