A young man is in custody after a woman was threatened at knifepoint last night in Chatham.
Officers attended a Queen Street residence last night about 10:30 p.m. where a woman reported a family member stole money from her, and, when confronted, the man assaulted her while holding a knife, police say.
The man fled the residence before police arrived.
Officers found the man a short distance away and made the arrest.
A 20-year-old Chatham man is charged with theft, assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
