A local fitness studio is offering free fitness camps this January.
TFab Fitness Studio is offering free fitness sessions Jan. 17, 24, and 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 310 Merritt Ave. in Chatham. Each session will feature Power Pump, Zumba, Cardio Kick Boxing, and boot camp.
During these sessions, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to exercise on their own for as little as 10 minutes a day with no equipment. The aim of the sessions is to teach C-K citizens how to exercise effectively, efficiently and economically.
Tom Faber, owner and trainer at the fitness studio, said the decision to offer these free camps came from reading a statement from the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit recently that stated that Chatham-Kent has high rates of obesity and poor nutrition. He found that disturbing and said he wanted to do his part to change it.
The sessions will include diet considerations, fitness tricks, and basic exercises. The programs are meant to accommodate people of different fitness levels. Those who have never exercised or who haven’t in a long time are able to go at their own pace and will not fall behind.
Faber said that he plans to offer similar free camps in the future as well.
