Firefighters from five stations battled a house fire in a large home on Bisnett Line near Blenheim Sunday night.
The blaze, the cause of which is undetermined at this time, did an estimated $300,000 damage. No one was home at the time of the fire.
Officials say firefighters from Blenheim and Erieau initially responded, and tried to fight the fire from inside the home to knock down the blaze, but had to withdraw as the structural integrity of the home was compromised.
They wound up just working to contain the fire, as tankers from Harwich North, Raleigh South and Ridgetown stations arrived to assist.
