Police investigating a routine noise complaint Tuesday morning found more than they were looking for.
Police visited the Chatham home around 6:30 a.m. and were invited into the residence where they found what appeared to be methamphetamine on a spoon lying on the table in the room.
The man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
It was learned the 60-year-old also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
He was released pending a court date in January.
