Chatham-Kent police tracked down a man yesterday who allegedly threatened officers with a baseball bat back in late October.
According to police, on Oct. 23, officers responded to a call on Orchard Heights and were greeted by a man who produced a baseball bat and uttered threats.
The man had a day in court in mid-November, but didn’t show, police say.
Yesterday afternoon, officers located the man and the 30-year-old was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Thursday offered a double whammy of sorts for police, as they picked up another man that morning wanted on outstanding warrants.
Police say about 11:15 a.m., an officer saw a man riding his bike in the area of Queen and Edgar streets in Chatham, and recognized the guy as someone wanted for failing to attend court to answer to charges of possession of stolen property.
The man tried to avoid capture, police say, but was tracked down on Pine Street.
During a search, police say they found marijuana on the man.
A 32-year-old Chatham man is charged with drug possession on top of his existing charges.
