Eyes in the sky helped Chatham-Kent OPP track down a truck believed to be responsible for running a tractor-trailer off the 401.

Police say a police aircraft was working with officers on the ground to nail speeders on the highway yesterday.

Just after 3 p.m. near Duart Road, police say a pickup truck hauling a trailer cut off a big rig, resulting in the tractor-trailer winding up in the centre median.

The pickup didn’t stop, police say.

But the police aircraft tracked the pickup down and helped direct police cruisers to its location.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing. No one was injured. The eastbound lanes were closed for a short time to allow for the removal of the tractor-trailer.
