Dr. April Rietdyk
Dr. April Rietdyk is moving up the ranks in municipal administration.
Rietdyk, the director of public health, will become general manager of health and family services in January.
She replaces Lucy Brown, who is retiring.
Rietdyk brings with her 30 years of experience focused on improving the quality of life for residents.
“April’s administrative leadership and enthusiasm have empowered her team in the public health unit to make it one of the strongest health units in Ontario,” the municipality’s CAO, Don Shropshire, said in a media release. “I know she will bring that same energy and community focus to working with employees, community partners and clients in her new position.”
As general manager of health and family services, Rietdyk will oversee a department that provides a diverse range of services to citizens of Chatham-Kent, including children’s services, employment and social services, housing, public health, and senior services.
