Police got down to the meat of the issue this week, arresting a man in connection with a trio of shoplifting incidents.
Between Tuesday and Thursday, a man entered No Frills on Queen Street and was caught on video surveillance placing meat in his backpack, police say, making no attempt to pay for the items as he exited the store.
Yesterday afternoon, police say the man went back to the store and loaded up his backpack again. A store employee approached and detained the man outside the store.
Total value of the meat stolen over the three days is approximately $350.
Matthew Wright, 28, of Chatham, faces three counts of theft and three of possession of stolen property in connection with this incident.
Everyone loves a bit of meat really.
