A day after police arrested a man in connection with a drug raid in Wallaceburg, they say they picked him up again.

Chatham-Kent police busted the man and four others in connection with the Tuesday drug raid and charged him with possession of methamphetamine. Police say he was released from custody Wednesday, with conditions, including that he reside at a specific residence on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg.

According to police, officers went to check up on the man that night, only to find he wasn’t living at that address. They saw the man walking on Murray Street and went to make the arrest.

The man fled on foot, police say, but was located after a short foot chase, when he was found hiding in a bush.

During a search, officers found a clear plastic baggie believed to contain crystal methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $3,000, police say.

The 44-year-old Wallaceburg man now faces charges of failing to comply, escape lawful custody and possession with the purpose of trafficking.
