A late-night buzz through Chatham-Kent left a Kitchener driver without a vehicle and a day in court to answer to a number of charges.
Chatham-Kent OPP say one of their officers clocked a Ford Flex well over the speed limit heading east on the 401 near Harwich Road at about 4:30 a.m. Aug. 13.
Police say the officer pulled over the vehicle, and further investigation yielded a small amount of marijuana. The officer also believed the driver to be impaired. Police say subsequent tests indicated the driver was over the legal limit.
A 27-year-old Kitchener man faces charges of possession of marijuana, impaired driving and racing a motor vehicle. His licence is under suspension and the Flex is in the impound for a week.
