Paralympian Derek Whitson will be at the Children’s Treatment Centre in Chatham Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to show off his Sochi 2014 bronze medal, sign autographs and generally just hang out.
Team Canada took the bronze medal in sledge hockey on the weekend, beating Norway 3-0.
Treatment Centre staff hope to have a large crowd on hand to welcome Whitson when he arrives at 5:15 p.m.
Whitson is a longtime client of the centre and started his sledge hockey career through its adapted recreation program.
