The Learning Disabilities Association of Chatham-Kent is $3,000 richer thanks to a pair of fundraising events sponsored by Bob N Buoys restaurant in Mitchell’s Bay.

The restaurant held a chili cook-off and an all-you-can eat fish fry recently with proceeds to the disabilities group.

Restaurant owner Jill Roe said the winter weekend of fundraisers has been a tradition for years under her ownership and previous owners. “We pick a group which helps local people and the Learning Disabilities group is doing great work.”

Helping sponsor the event was Bedell’s Foods, the Chatham Superstore,  Agris Co-Op in Tupperville, the Wallaceburg Bank of Montreal, Gail Trahan, Water Hut Wallaceburg, Shoppers Drugs in Wallaceburg, Leon’s Furniture, Labatt and Rosaire Cartier. Music was supplied by Bushman, Charlie Dorner and Jordan Roy.
