PURE dancers fare well in Michigan

Dancers from Chatham’s PURE Academy took part in a Dancemakers regional qualifying competition recently in Dearborn, Mich.

In all, 55 dancers from the local club entered 36 routines.

In the primary division, Charlie Wiebenga and Tynasjia Brown won national scholarships.

In the mini division, PURE’s team finished first overall.

Carter Pittuck won a one-year scholarship in junior division competition.

Grace Hodgson won a national scholarship in the teen division.

Micah Enzlin took top senior male dancer in solo competition, while Madison Hetherington, Hodgson and Brooke Thompson picked up top spot in the trio category.

Riley Kitchen of PURE won a senior scholarship award and another to attend the Clifton Dance Project this summer in Huntington Beach, Calif.
