The municipality has closed sections of rural roads in Chatham-Kent due to heavy drifting.
Victoria Road is closed from McKay’s Line to Selton Line in the former Howard Township due to large drifts. Crews are working to clear the road and the municipality hopes to reopen that section of Victoria Road in the early afternoon.
Lindsay Road in the former Chatham Township is also closed from Pioneer Line to Darrell Line, also because of drifting snow. Crews hope to have that road open just after lunch.
But as of 5 p.m., no word from the municipality on when those roads reopened, or if they did.
We can add a section of Hill Road in the former Howard Township to the closure list. Hill is closed between Golf Course Line and Green Line due to a collision and drifting snow.
sheesh! one has to get a map out just to figure out where your info is talking about
Hill Road was drifted full at 2 p.m. on the west side of the road today causing southbound traffic to use the northbound lane. The road goes uphill when southbound and it is next to impossible to see oncoming traffic. The drifts on the southbound side of the road were easily four feet high and some stretched all the way across the road.
Yes, the joy of living in an oversized municipality.
a map link would be great
YIKES!! SNOW DAY ON THE WAY. FLIGHT DEPARTURE: 9 HOURS
We need a windbreak desperately. There's a union gas main that runs along our side of the road so we will have to figure out how far in trees have to go, but I think it's pretty far in to the field (there's a wide easement). It's a future plan
