Sir: I attended the Oct. 21 council meeting as a pro McNaughton Avenue West bike lane supporter. After hearing thoughtful, evidence-based deputations on the pro side, as well as those wanting on-street parking, I was confident of a yes vote, and then stunned to find that the motion was defeated.
A highly polarized issue to be sure. Issues of the environment, health, safety, conflicts with the C-K Strategic Plan, and C-K’s legal liability have all been made on the pro side by those more articulate than me.
