Ontario Provincial Police are searching for a black Chevrolet Cavalier that they believe struck a pick up truck on Highway 401 Sunday afternoon, sending two people to hospital.
Both vehicles were headed westbound near Mull Road just before 1 p.m. when the Cavalier made contact with a white Ford pick-up truck towing a camper trailer, police say.
As a result of the collision, the truck left the road and entered the ditch. Both its occupants were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the Cavalier stopped momentary at the scene where a male driver and female passenger exited the vehicle before re-entering the car and fleeing westbound.
The suspect vehicle has severe damage to the passenger side and may also have white or silver paint from the truck, according to police.
