Editor: I think the concept plans of creating a park in the part of Wheatley that was destroyed by the gas explosions several years ago is an excellent idea!
I think I’ve only been through Wheatley once or twice in my life, when I was very young and don’t have any vivid memories of it, but I think the idea of a downtown park there is a good one.
I just wish that the area that is left besides the old Sears Annex in downtown Chatham, an urban park and town clock, could be left as it is now, once the Hub building is built. I understand that this may not be the case because of what the architect’s drawings show.
What a big loss for downtown Chatham.
We are fortunate though, that we still have Tecumseh Park nearby.
